VIDEO: Pirates Seize Oil Tanker, Foiled by Nigerian Navy

A Singaporean oil tanker was captured by pirates 14 nautical miles off the coast of Nigeria, and was subsequently freed by the Nigerian Navy. The ship had 22 sailors aboard, but there are no reports of casualties.The pirates aboard the oil tanker were soon approached by the Nigerian Navy, retreating before the warships and helicopters approached. According to Reuters, pirates off the coast of Nigeria rarely kidnap vessels and their crews, instead they steal what they can and quickly make their escape.
