They recently acquired Motorola and Boston Dynamics, the company responsible for the incredibly creepy and incredibly life-like robots which saw which saw funding and oversight by the US Department of Defense. Google is clearly trying to claim a big stake in the smart future of the physical world, and we imagine that all of these purchases play a part in that journey. We have no idea what Google&#8217;s plan is to do with humanoid robots and smart thermostats, but the prospects are almost as exciting as they are terrifying. As long as this doesn&#8217;t mean we need a Google+ account to adjust the temperature on our thermostats, we&#8217;re okay with it for now.
