Specifically, it was reported CPI was likely to have fallen year-over-year for the first time in more than twenty years.\u00a0 Euro bids are cited around the US$ 1.3900 figure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a5\/ CNY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The yen depreciated vis-\u00e0-vis the U.S. dollar today as the greenback tested offers around the \u00a595.10 level and was supported around the \u00a594.00 figure.\u00a0 Data released in Japan today saw June retail sales off 3% y\/y.\u00a0\u00a0 There is significant talk that Japanese investors will be repatriating proceeds from Eurobond redemptions and this is weighing heavily on some of the crosses.\u00a0 Data released in Japan today saw June retail sales decline 3% y\/y.\u00a0 Most traders believe Bank of Japan will begin to gradually unwind its considerable monetary stimuli by the end of the year when some of its emergency lending and liquidity provision programs begin to mature.\u00a0 The Nikkei 225 stock index climbed 0.26% to close at \u00a510,113.24.\u00a0 U.S. dollar offers are cited around the \u00a5104.15 level.\u00a0 The euro moved lower vis-\u00e0-vis the yen as the single currency tested bids around the \u00a5132.75 level and was capped around the \u00a5134.40 level.\u00a0 The British pound moved higher vis-\u00e0-vis the yen as sterling tested offers around the \u00a5156.30 level while the Swiss franc moved lower vis-\u00e0-vis the yen and tested bids around the \u00a587.10 level.
