Stronger US jobs data and signs of inflation picking up would help.<\/p>\n<p>A new report from the US Labor Department released on Wednesday showed troubling trends underlying the labor market, with a decline in the number of people hired to start a new job in April. The number of people hired in April fell to 5.1 million, down from 5.3 million in March and 5.5 million in February.<\/p>\n<p>The dollar index, which is a gauge of the U.S. currency against a basket of six currencies, has fallen to a five-week low. It reached 93.68 on Wednesday.
