{"id":87788,"date":"2016-04-07T07:36:20","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T11:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/countingpips.com\/?p=87788"},"modified":"2016-04-07T07:36:21","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T11:36:21","slug":"fomc-minutes-reveal-disagreement-on-timing-of-rate-hikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.investmacro.com\/forex\/2016\/04\/fomc-minutes-reveal-disagreement-on-timing-of-rate-hikes\/","title":{"rendered":"FOMC minutes reveal disagreement on timing of rate hikes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"inves-3817846931\" class=\"inves-below-title-posts inves-entity-placement\"><div id =\"posts_date_custom\"><div align=\"left\">April 7, 2016<\/div><hr style=\"border: none; border-bottom: 3px solid black;\">\r\n<\/div><\/div><p>Article by <a href=\"http:\/\/countingpips.com\/contributors\/contributor-profile-forextime\/\">ForexTime<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The dollar hit a fresh seventeen-month low against the yen on Thursday as it extended its weakness following the FOMC minutes that were released late on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The minutes to the Federal Reserve\u2019s March meeting revealed that officials advocating caution outnumbered those seeking action this month, supporting market perceptions that the Fed will not move until its June meeting at the earliest.<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting the Fed scaled back its 2016 interest rate forecasts to two quarter-point rises, falling closer into line with subdued market expectations as it flagged up risks to the US outlook from financial markets and weaker growth abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Fed Chair Janet Yellen has stressed that the Fed should \u201cproceed cautiously\u201d as it considers when to next lift rates, suggesting she does not want to rush ahead with a second increase.<\/p>\n<p>The minutes also revealed that policy makers disagreed on other issues such as unemployment.
