{"id":71937,"date":"2015-05-04T01:45:56","date_gmt":"2015-05-04T05:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/countingpips.com\/?p=71937"},"modified":"2015-05-04T07:06:46","modified_gmt":"2015-05-04T11:06:46","slug":"chinese-manufacturing-pmi-disappoint-asian-markets-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.investmacro.com\/forex\/2015\/05\/chinese-manufacturing-pmi-disappoint-asian-markets-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese manufacturing PMI disappoint, Asian markets fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"inves-1172448830\" class=\"inves-below-title-posts inves-entity-placement\"><div id =\"posts_date_custom\"><div align=\"left\">May 4, 2015<\/div><hr style=\"border: none; border-bottom: 3px solid black;\">\r\n<\/div><\/div><p>Article by <a href=\"http:\/\/countingpips.com\/contributors\/contributor-profile-forextime\/\">ForexTime<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Disappointing factory activity from China reinforced views that the Chinese government will launch fresh stimulus soon in order to stimulate the world\u2019s second-largest economy back to growth.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the HSBC\/Markit Purchasing Managers\u2019 Index (PMI) showed factory activity in China contracted at its fastest rate in a year in April as demand faltered and deflationary pressures persisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PMI indicates that more stimulus measures may be required to ensure the economy doesn\u2019t slow from the 7 percent annual growth rate seen in Q1,\u201d said Annabel Fiddes, an economist at Markit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cValuations are still attractive and this is a liquidity-fueled rally so any broad pullbacks are going to be viewed as a buying opportunity by investors,\u201d said Grace Tam, a markets strategist at JP Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>Equity markets in Shanghai fell after the PMI survey but quickly clawed back losses and were up nearly 1 percent by late morning as investors bet on more policy easing.
