What Happened to CSR Ltd\u2019s Share Price?<\/h2>\n

Shares in building products maker CSR Ltd [ASX:CSR]<\/strong> shot up today, gaining nearly 3% to extend October\u2019s rally. Today\u2019s price action pushes CSR\u2019s year-to-date capital growth beyond 37%.<\/p>\n

Why Did This Happen to CSR Shares?<\/h2>\n

Posting its half-year result today, CSR said net profit after tax jumped by 48% to $68.4 million. Earnings were higher across all of CSR\u2019s divisions. Commentary from the company\u2019s CFO Greg Barnes buoyed the market \u2014 he expects Australia\u2019s housing boom to last at least two more years.<\/p>\n

What Now for CSR Ltd?<\/h2>\n

CSR makes more money when more new homes are built. The company should benefit from a continued strong Aussie property market<\/a>. Although after such a strong recent run, it\u2019s worth remembering that construction is a highly cyclical industry\u2026so if you own this stock, keep your eye on the economic headlines.<\/p>\n
