{"id":62198,"date":"2014-10-20T08:36:02","date_gmt":"2014-10-20T12:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/countingpips.com\/?p=62198"},"modified":"2014-10-20T10:31:33","modified_gmt":"2014-10-20T14:31:33","slug":"stock-markets-report-20th-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.investmacro.com\/forex\/2014\/10\/stock-markets-report-20th-october\/","title":{"rendered":"Stock Markets Report 20th October"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"inves-1068074902\" class=\"inves-below-title-posts inves-entity-placement\"><div id =\"posts_date_custom\"><div align=\"left\">October 20, 2014<\/div><hr style=\"border: none; border-bottom: 3px solid black;\">\r\n<\/div><\/div><p><strong>By <u><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1nb5wuT\" target=\"_blank\">HY Markets Forex Blog<\/a><\/u><\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Stocks in the Asian region was seen trading higher on Monday, boosted by the US upbeat data and positive earnings reports, which helped offset heavy losses from the previous week amid global growth worries<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amongst the reports released from the world\u2019s biggest economy, was the US housing report which showed that US housing starts climbed 6.3% in September to 1.02 million at an annualized rate, from 957,000 in August., according a to the Commerce Department in Washington. \u00a0The Thomson Reuters\/University of Michigan preliminary sentiment index for October rose to a seven year high of 86.4.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-4989\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Asian Stocks<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stocks in Japan jumped after a report that the Government Pension Investment Fund will boost domestic shares.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 index rallied 2.84% to 14,945.42 points at the time of writing, while Tokyo\u2019s Topix index rose 2.98% to 1,212.12 points. The Japanese yen weakened against the US dollar on Monday, trading around 107.20 yen from 106.90 yen on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The weaker yen boosted exporters gain, with auto stocks leading gains.
