Voters in Scotland will be voting on whether to seek independence from the UK in a \u2018Yes\u2019 or \u2018No\u2019 ballot on Thursday. The move could end the three-century-old union between the country and the rest of the UK and expected to have an effect on the market despite the turnout.<\/p>\n

The poll stations will be opened by 7.am local time on Thursday and will close by 10 pm BST. This event is expected to bring out Scotland\u2019s 4.3 million registered voters to take part in the referendum on independence. The vote count will begin immediately the polls close at 10 pm BST and will be counted at each of Scotland\u2019s 32 local authority areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the votes are counted with a final result, the chief counting officer Mary Pitcaithly will announce the results of the referendum on Friday at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

Alex Salmond, the head of the Scottish government and the leader of the \u2018yes\u2019 campaign as well as U.K Prime Minister David Cameron, who opposes the referendum, gave their final campaign speeches this week to pursued voters.<\/p>\n

This is the \u201ceve of the most exciting day in Scottish democracy,\u201d Salmond said in his final campaign speech in central Scotland. \u201cThis is our opportunity of a lifetime and we must seize it with both hands.\u201d<\/p>

On Wednesday, the final YouGov poll showed that 52% opposed the referendum, while 48% supported \u2018Yes\u2019 for independence, excluding the undecided voters. Another poll by Survation\u00a0 for the Daily Record newspaper was led by the \u2018No\u2019 campaign by six percentage points, while a separate poll by Ipsos-Mori for STV showed the \u2018Yes\u2019 campaign was supported by 49%, while the \u2018No\u2019 campaign was backed by 51%.<\/p>\n
