Copper futures were seen rising for a third day on Tuesday, as it climbs to an 11-week high on speculations that demand for the metal will increase from China, the world\u2019s biggest consumer for the metal.<\/p>\n

Copper for the three months on the London Metal Exchange advanced 0.7% higher to $6,966 a metric ton, the highest since March 7.<\/span><\/p>\n

China<\/span><\/h2>\n

On Monday, the Chinese Premier Li said the government plans on boosting the economy by adjusting the policy, according to a statement on the government\u2019s website. China\u2019s mini-stimulus will continue through the second quarter, a report from the UBS AG confirmed today.<\/p>\n

This month, copper has risen by 4.5% so far as it heads for its highest gain in a month since December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a produce data on durable goods orders, house price inflation and consumer confidence is expected to be released from the US later in the day.<\/p>

Inventories tracked by the LME dropped to 175,850 tons, the lowest since 2008, while stocks tracked by the Shanghai Futures Exchange fell by 26% this year to 92,652 tons.<\/p>\n

Copper for July delivery gained 0.4% to $3.1795 a pound on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange during the European trading session, while the contract for August delivery on the Shanghai exchange shed 0.4% to 48,940 yuan a ton.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Petro Poroshenko was officially announced as the victor of Ukraine\u2019s presidential election held on Sunday, as the Russian President Vladimir Putin said he would respect the result of the elections.<\/p>\n
