Boris Johnson, Britain\u2019s rather controversial Prime Minister, is running out of options.<\/p>\n

Last Friday, a\u00a0bill to\u00a0block a no-deal Brexit\u00a0<\/a>by October 31st passed the House of Lords.\u00a0<\/strong>It\u00a0should now be made law as early as Monday.<\/p>\n

The bill proposes that should\u00a0Johnson fail to secure a deal with the EU by October 19th, he must go and beg for another three-month extension.<\/strong>\u00a0The PM said he would\u00a0\u201crather be dead in a ditch\u201d<\/em>\u00a0than be forced to go back to ask for a pointless extension.<\/p>\n

BoJo Refuses to Abide by Law<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Prime Minister has already made comments\u00a0refusing to abide by the new law<\/strong>, even if Parliament demands that he do so. BoJo currently wants to ignore the piece of legislation and follow through with his original promise to \u201cleave\u201d Europe by the latest EU-approved deadline. However, that means\u00a0he is risking jail time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PM Wants to Win Majority<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The truth is that insisting on his aggressive strategy\u00a0is\u00a0likely to put him in a better position\u00a0should he win a general election before October 19th<\/strong>. And that\u2019s what I believe his end goal is. To scrap the law and secure an early election. But will he succeed?<\/p>\n

With\u00a0Ms Rudd\u2019s resignation<\/strong>\u00a0over the weekend, speculation that other ministers will take a hint increases. Boris has already sacked 21 Torry MPs who voted for an extension and seen his own brother giving up on him. And now, he\u2019s watching his\u00a0government falling apart<\/strong>\u00a0around him.<\/p>\n

So, Can A Hard-Brexit Still Occur?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yes! In case the government\u00a0wins an election before the House of Lords\u2019 deadline<\/strong>, BoJo could carry on exiting without requesting an extension. But\u00a0Labor refuses to go on a snap election<\/strong>\u00a0before the PM guarantees that there will be no Brexit without a deal. Remembering Mr. Johnson\u2019s decision to\u00a0suspend Parliament for five weeks<\/a>, defying Parliamentarians,\u00a0an election is highly unlikely<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Irish Breakthrough Nearly Impossible<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As the debate continues, the Irish PM has made it clear that the future of the Irish border neither does nor will hang on party-politics or BoJo\u2019s promises. Varadkar also\u00a0expressed his concerns on whether Johnson can strike a new deal<\/strong>\u00a0with the EU without having the necessary backing from Parliament and from his own party.<\/p>\n
