US dollar net short bets\u00a0<\/em>declined to $9.80 billion from $10.84 billion against the\u00a0major currencies<\/a>\u00a0during the previous week , according to the report of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) covering data up to May 15 released on Friday May 18. The dollar strengthening slowed as the consumer price index rose 0.2% on month in April when 0.3% increase was expected.<\/p>\n
