But that doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m against <i>all <\/i>brain investments.<\/p>\n<p>Let me explain\u2026<\/p>\n<p>My Christian beliefs stand in strong opposition to massively \u201cengineering\u201d God\u2019s creative work at the genetic level.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that\u2019s my personal perspective from which I evaluate investments, not one I\u2019m suggesting everyone should adopt. So please don\u2019t send me hate mail for pushing an agenda. I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the thing\u2026 My opposition doesn\u2019t prevent me from paying careful attention to the space. And when it comes to brain investments, I\u2019m all for technologies that can augment human deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Second Sight Medical Products Inc. (NASDAQ: EYES) deserves serious consideration.<\/p>\n<p>The company recently received conditional FDA approval to proceed with a cortical implant to restore vision to blind people. (That\u2019s not a typo.)<\/p>\n<p>I believe there\u2019s little technology risk involved with these trials, as the company has already successfully implanted a less sophisticated electrode array into a patient.<\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s only a matter of Second Sight\u2019s software and advanced array restoring meaningful enough vision for patients to desire the implant.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the key: After successfully demonstrating such capabilities, Second Sight\u2019s technology can be used to treat other conditions, including pain management. In other words, Second Sight\u2019s cortical implant device holds the potential to become a platform technology.<\/p>\n<p>As such, the company is a natural acquisition target for Elon Musk\u2019s Neuralink. Especially since it\u2019s trading at such a low market cap of about $63 million.<\/p>\n<p>Heck, a merger with the Nasdaq-listed company to get Neuralink public might unlock the \u201cmind-blowing\u201d gains Jonathan predicted above.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said, the company deserves serious consideration from any investor interested in this space.
