Consider it our public service.<\/p>\n<p>We started the process in last week\u2019s column. In case you missed it, you can check it out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2017\/06\/02\/state-internet-3-charts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it\u2019s time to finish it off with four remaining \u201cmust see\u201d tech charts. So let\u2019s get to it\u2026<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead\"><b>Voice Matters<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>We beat Meeker to the punch, sharing this chart \u2014 and its significance \u2014 in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2017\/03\/31\/prepare-invisible-technology-revolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 31 column<\/a>. However, it\u2019s all the more relevant now that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) officially entered the market this week with its personal assistant, Siri, embedded in a home speaker, dubbed HomePod:<\/p>\n<p class=\"centered\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/wallstreetdailywebsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/machinespeed_chart.png\" alt=\"ccuracy of Machine Speed Recognition chart\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To reiterate: The next major tech interface and revolution is about to be unleashed. It\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n<p>The voice explosion is imminent, too. Not because all the major tech companies are introducing products, but because voice recognition technology is finally ready for prime time.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, it\u2019s within spitting distance of being on par with human speech recognition capabilities at 95%.<\/p>\n<p>In March, IBM\u2019s speech recognition team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/blogs\/watson\/2017\/03\/reaching-new-records-in-speech-recognition\/?utm_source=Triggermail&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Post%20Blast%20%28bii-apps-and-platforms%29:%20IBM%20edges%20closer%20to%20human%20speech%20recognition%20%E2%80%94%20Viber%20adds%20Snapchat-like%20disappearing%20messages%20%E2%80%94%20Microsoft%20introduces%20Playable%20Ads&amp;utm_term=BII%20List%20Mobile%20ALL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>achieved<\/strong><\/a> a new record high at 94.5%.<\/p>\n<p>As Shawn DuBravac, chief economist for the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), says, \u201cWe\u2019ve seen more progress in this technology in the last 30 months than we saw in the last 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed. The progress has reached a point where the technology is finally ripe for mass adoption \u2014 and, in turn, investment.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead\"><b>The Amazon Effect<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve chronicled the devastating impact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2017\/04\/14\/friday-charts-teslas-absurd-valuation-amazons-endless-warpath\/\">Amazon<\/a> is having on traditional retailers, forcing them to close up shop in droves.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Meeker offered up another tangible data point of the online retailing juggernaut\u2019s increasing dominance\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Parcel shipment volumes are up 9% in the last year. That\u2019s more than double the growth rate from five years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"centered\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/wallstreetdailywebsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/SpecialDelivery-WSD.png\" alt=\"ccuracy of Machine Speed Recognition chart\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Essentially, doormen are turning into delivery room supervisors.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m guilty as charged here. Almost every day, a parcel arrives at my home. Increasingly, it contains mundane, everyday items. It\u2019s so much quicker, simpler \u2014 and in some cases cheaper \u2014 to order it online with my Amazon Prime subscription than to go to a physical store.<\/p>\n<p>Since Amazon keeps entering new markets, this trend is likely to keep gaining speed. Bet on it!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead\"><b>Health Care at an Inflection Point<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>No, I\u2019m not talking about the never-ending debate in Washington, D.C. I\u2019m talking about the fact that almost all of our medical records are now online.<\/p>\n<p class=\"centered\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"centered aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/wallstreetdailywebsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Digitized-WSD.png\" alt=\"ccuracy of Machine Speed Recognition chart\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the last decade, electronic health record penetration rates for U.S. physicians catapulted from 21% to 87%.<\/p>\n<p>Once data are stored digitally, they can be accessed and analyzed exponentially faster and easier. Especially since more and more consumers are comfortable with the idea.<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, the majority of Americans couldn\u2019t care less about digital privacy.
