Frankly, it\u2019s been hiding in plain sight. It\u2019s been dominating the headlines coming out of two major technology conventions this year: the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

However, many investors still don\u2019t see it coming. Mainly because the interface is literally invisible.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m, of course, talking about voice interfaces.<\/p>\n

Look no further than Amazon\u2019s virtual assistant, Alexa, for proof why voice is about to take over the technology world.<\/p>\n

When Alexa launched a mere two years ago, it was only able to complete 14 tasks. Now it can achieve over 10,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve made huge progress in teaching Alexa to better understand you,\u201d says Rohit Prasad, Amazon\u2019s head scientist. I\u2019ll say!<\/p>\n

\"Number<\/p>\n

It goes without saying that when a technology can reliably do more \u2014 cheaply \u2014 more people are destined to use it.<\/p>\n

Industry insiders agree that for voice interfaces to go mainstream, voice recognition technology \u2014 the ability for computers to understand human speech \u2014 would need to achieve a 95% accuracy rate.<\/p>\n

\"Accuracy<\/p>\n

Well, guess what? We\u2019re mere decimal points away. A research paper<\/strong><\/a> completed in October 2016 by engineers at Microsoft revealed that they achieved an accuracy rate of 94.1%. Even for the most complicated languages, like Mandarin Chinese.<\/p>\n

Then, this month, IBM\u2019s speech recognition team achieved<\/strong><\/a> a new record high at 94.5%.<\/p>\n

As Shawn DuBravac, chief economist for the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), says, \u201cWe\u2019ve seen more progress in this technology in the last 30 months than we saw in the last thirty years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Translation: In a matter of months, we\u2019ll breach the tipping point for mass adoption.<\/p>\n

Follow the Smart Money Into AI<\/h2>\n

Venture capital money flows are a telltale indicator of timely profit opportunities. And there\u2019s no mistaking this trend.<\/p>\n

Last year, a record 658 artificial intelligence (AI) startups received venture funding, up from 160 in 2012, according to CB Insights.<\/p>\n

The trend is far from letting up. Case in point: Forrester Research predicts that AI investments will increase more than 300% in 2017.<\/p>\n

Clearly, we\u2019ve reached an inflection point.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just venture capitalists that are hot on AI, though. As a recent article in Forbes<\/i> proclaimed, \u201cVirtually every major power in chips is suddenly chasing the AI dream.\u201d<\/p>\n

Truth be told, it\u2019s not just the chip players getting positioned. Recently, Uber launched an AI research lab\u2026 Apple announced plans to collaborate with the AI community\u2026 and Ford formalized a $1 billion investment over the next five years in a startup called Argo AI.<\/p>\n

So capital is flooding into AI from all corners of the market. And the momentum is building.<\/p>\n

The obvious and overcrowded play in the space is Nvidia. Once again, we\u2019ve identified an under-the-radar small cap perfectly positioned to profit from the AI boom.<\/p>\n
