(I&#8217;m talking about cars &#8211; not beer &#8211; people. Come on!)<\/li>\n<li>And will the average American ever get their finances in order?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please enjoy the answers!<\/p>\n<p><b>Apple: Time to Bet \u201con the Come\u201d?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1%. That\u2019s all the sales growth Apple could muster up this quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Talk about pathetic. For years, the company had delivered double-digit sales <i>and <\/i>profit growth like clockwork.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0713_TwoScary.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t fret, though. Even with shares down about 40% from their all-time high in 2012, the new(ish) CEO wants us to hang tight on the promise of better growth ahead.<br \/>\n<a name=\"more\"><\/a><br \/>\nIn his prepared statement, Cook said, \u201cWe are laser-focused and working hard on some amazing new products that we will introduce in the fall and across 2014.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, he wants investors to bet \u201con the come.\u201d I wouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Is Apple Really a \u201cBuy\u201d Ahead of Earnings?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2012\/04\/24\/is-apple-really-a-buy\/\">As I\u2019ve pointed out before<\/a>, the law of large numbers isn\u2019t working in Apple\u2019s favor. Neither are the business fundamentals.<\/p>\n<p>Average selling prices (ASP) for the iPad and iPhone, which account for more than 50% of sales, are falling, not rising. The iPad ASP fell to $436 from $449 last quarter, and the iPhone ASP dropped to a historic low of $581 from $613 last quarter.<\/p>\n<p>You <i>could<\/i> wait for Cook to prove that he can innovate and deliver double-digit growth via new products.<\/p>\n<p>Or, better yet, there\u2019s a way for you to collect insane amounts of cash on Apple <i>right now<\/i>. I\u2019m talking about pocketing $25,000 or more (enough to buy a new car) &#8211; in three seconds or less. Don\u2019t believe me? If you\u2019re tired of trying to make sense of all the warnings, there is a solution.<\/p>\n<p>And no, it\u2019s not going 100% into cash. Even if cash reduces your anxiety levels, it&#8217;s a stupid investment. (Want proof? Go <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Charting the Most Dangerous, Wealth-Destroying Investment in the World\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2013\/06\/24\/cash-vs-stocks\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Instead, bank on dividend-paying stocks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0713_AlwaysSafe.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although they might lag the broader market during bull markets over short periods of time, they consistently do a portfolio good over the longer term.<\/p>\n<p><b>Buy Domestic<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Last week, I shared a <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Friday Charts: A Nasty Game of Chicken\u2026 Wall Street Style\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2013\/07\/19\/homebuilder-sentiment-mobile-market\/\">shocking divergence in the real estate market<\/a>. This week, I\u2019m sharing one in the automotive market.<\/p>\n<p>In the United States, new auto sales just hit the highest level in five years. In Europe, though, new auto sales dropped to their lowest levels in almost a decade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0713_NewCar.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The takeaway? Keep betting on domestic automakers, specifically <b>Ford<\/b> (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/finance?q=NYSE%3AF&amp;ei=fJDxUfCbMLSz0QG_dg\">F<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it for this week.
