(Amen!)<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nSo without further ado, check out these snapshots of the big thorn stuck in small business&#8217; side&#8230; a <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">&#8220;<\/span><span style=\"color: #1f497d;font-family: Georgia,serif\">s<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">ell in May&#8221; update&#8230; and, as <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2013\/05\/30\/bernanke-sucker-punch\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia,serif\"><span style=\"color: #045b98\">I promised yesterday<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">, one of my favorite stocks to own during this economic recovery. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Arial,sans-serif;font-size: large\"><b>Move Government, Get Out the Way!<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve featured the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2013\/04\/12\/japan-government-bonds-market-correction\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia,serif\"><span style=\"color: #045b98\">NFIB Small Business Optimism Index<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"> here before.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nSo what does the latest reading tell us? In short, Washington is still a major problem.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0513_TheBlame.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nThe number of businesses citing poor sales as their biggest concern keeps falling. But the number of those that blame taxes and government red tape keeps climbing. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nIn fact, 44% of small business owners rank these two factors as their biggest problems. Mind you, that&#8217;s almost double the low hit in September 2008.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nMaybe President Reagan was on to something when he warned: &#8220;The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: &#8216;I&#8217;m from the government and I&#8217;m here to help.&#8217;&#8221;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nLet&#8217;s all do our part to help Washington get the message.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nCopy and paste this chart into an email to your elected representatives with a simple message (from the wise words of Ludacris): &#8220;Get out the way!&#8221;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Arial,sans-serif;font-size: large\"><b>Sell in May? Nope! How About June?<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nI hate to say &#8220;I told you so.&#8221; But&#8230; I told you so!<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/2013\/05\/01\/sell-in-may-seasonal-investing\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia,serif\"><span style=\"color: #045b98\">On May 1<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">, I warned: &#8220;Selling in May and going away is not all it&#8217;s cracked up to be.&#8221;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nAnd sure enough, the market kept on rallying. As I write, the S&amp;P 500 Index and Dow are both up about 3%, while the Nasdaq is up about 4%.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nSo what&#8217;s in store for June? A little <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">gloom<\/span><span style=\"color: #1f497d;font-family: Georgia,serif\"> &#8211; t<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\">hat<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"> is, if history is a reliable guide.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0413_IsAJune.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nAlthough the Dow averaged a gain of 0.37% in June over the last 100 years, it&#8217;s only delivered positive returns 48% of the time, according to Bespoke Investment Group.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nIf we focus on the last 50 and 20 years, the average performance is even weaker. The Dow actually averaged declines of 0.37% and 0.76%, respectively. And it only posted positive returns 46% and 40% of the time.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nNow, if that has you thinking about ditching stocks to sidestep the potential selloff, might I suggest an alternative? <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nFor instance, a stock that&#8217;s uniquely positioned to buck the trend&#8230;<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Arial,sans-serif;font-size: large\"><b>You Might Be a Redneck If&#8230;<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nIf you live anywhere in the South, you might be accused of being a redneck if you own a pickup truck. (I know, because it&#8217;s happened to me.) Chances are, though, that you&#8217;re a small business owner, too.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nAs I&#8217;ve noted before, small business owners account for a large portion of pickup sales, particularly <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><b>Ford<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"> (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/finance?q=NYSE%3AF&amp;ei=67qnUbiOA4u60AGbkwE\">F<\/a>) F-Series trucks. That means, by gauging sales of F-Series trucks, we can track the health of the economy. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nAnd there&#8217;s no mistaking the underlying trend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wallstreetdaily.com\/wallstreet-research\/charts\/0513_Pickup.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nYear-to-date through April, Ford has sold just as many F-150 trucks as it did right before the recession hit. And there&#8217;s more road ahead.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nSo much so, that Ford is planning to boost North American production to meet the demand.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nTack on the fact that sales in Europe are bottoming out, and Ford is certainly in store for an earnings boost. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nMy conservative estimate calls for the company to earn $2 per share in 2014, which would represent a 41% increase over the consensus estimate for this year.<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nGiven that stocks ultimately follow earnings &#8211; and that Ford is trading on the cheap at less than 11 times earnings, compared to 16.8 times for the S&amp;P 500 Index &#8211; shares could easily rally another 50% from current levels. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nThrow in a modest 2.7% dividend yield, and what&#8217;s not to like? <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nYou might be a redneck if you drive a pickup. But you&#8217;d be a pretty darn <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><i>smart<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"> redneck if you also owned a few hundred shares of Ford. <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: Georgia,serif\"><br \/>\nThat&#8217;s it for this week.
