\nPlanning a Carnival cruise any time soon?<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t think so. It hasn\u2019t had the best track record lately, after stranding 3,000 travelers without electricity and sanitation for five days in February. Or the recent engine problems that forced the Carnival Dream to cut its voyage short.<\/p>\n

But the dark cloud surrounding the cruise line might be lifted in the near future.<\/p>\n

Carnival Corp. <\/b>(CCL<\/a>) is dropping $300 million to boost emergency power and fire safety mechanisms in its fleet of 24 ships.<\/p>\n

Will it be enough?<\/p>\n
